Jake currently serves as Director and the President of PGE Management, Inc. and Jacobson Group, Inc., both of which are real estate investment and development companies. Jake spent the majority of his career as a Partner at Bain & Company. 

He was Appointed by Governor Romney to provide board level leadership for the Springfield Finance Control Board, charged with a complete financial and operational turn-around of the state’s third largest city – Springfield. During this appointment Jake conducted detailed analysis of Springfield Public Schools (SPS) to identify weaknesses and areas of opportunity. He helped develop the first state framework for a performance-based teachers’ contract – tracking student growth, instructional successes and weaknesses while offering opportunities for both student and teacher growth. He also helped transform the step and tenure-based compensation system that rewarded only longevity and replaced it with a system to promote and reward teacher and student success, offering financial incentives to successful teachers. 

In addition to his work with SPS, Jake applied rigorous analytical processes and benchmarking to all aspects of city government including crime statistics, road work, custodial services and management of real estate assets resulting in greatly improved city services and reduced cost.
