Gary Kearney 

Life Director

Dr. Gary P. Kearney is a past President of the Medical Staff and current Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH). In addition, he is Chief of the Department of Urology, a position he has held since 1993. 

 Dr. Kearney is also a former member of the Board of Trustees and the President’s Council, and works closely with the development office on fundraising initiatives at NEBH. He joined NEBH as a member of the medical staff in 1973. 

 In addition to his work at NEBH, Dr. Kearney holds a teaching appointment at Harvard Medical School where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Surgery/Urology. 

  A four time “Top Doc” in Boston Magazine, Dr. Kearney is certified by the American Board of Urology. He earned his Medical Degree at the University of San Francisco and received a BA from Northwestern University. He served in the United States Navy as a naval flight surgeon and holds the rank of Captain. During his tenure he was awarded two Navy Commendation Medals. 

Dr. Kearney is on the board of directors and chairs the development committee at Rogerson Communities, a nonprofit which provides housing and health care for elders and low-income individuals and families. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the USS Constitution Museum.  Dr. Kearney has a long-time relationship with Pioneer Institute and works closely with its development team.
