Paula Kavolius is Pioneer’s Major Gifts Director. Prior to joining Pioneer, Kavolius was the Founder and CEO of the House of Possibilities, the first respite house of-its-kind on a college campus in the United States. In addition to her executive duties, she set and executed the strategic direction, management, and coordination of the corporate development effort. In this capacity, she conducted multiple fundraising campaigns, including capital, major giving, annual appeals, event planning, planned giving, and matching gift endeavors. Paula’s tenure produced significant impact in the special needs arena through a disciplined and organic approach to community building. Her background includes communications expertise, media training, and social media, in addition to research and analysis.

Previously, Paula was a Client Liaison at Massachusetts General Hospital for ten years where she partnered with the Director of Client Services to strategize ways to best meet the needs of donors and support philanthropic efforts. She participated in special events designed to educate and engage donors.

Paula has received several awards and has been a speaker at numerous local and national events. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and lives with her husband Mark in Walpole, with whom she has three sons.
