Center for School ReformOverview of Pioneer's CSR

The Center for School Reform seeks to improve the academic performance of Massachusetts’ public schools through broad public debate, legislative outreach, and scholarly research. The Center promotes the free exchange of ideas related to academic excellence, competition, and data-driven approaches to public education, so that students, citizens, and the Commonwealth as a whole can compete globally.

The Center generates practical ideas that public policy makers, individual schools, and school districts can implement by::

  • › publishing research that offers constructive recommendations;
  • › sponsoring forums, conferences and events supporting education and school reform;
  • › contributing opinion and commentary to state and national newspapers; and
  • › testifying before the Massachusetts Legislature and state Board of Education on pending education reform issues.

The Center’s work is built on the premise that the Commonwealth should uphold its constitutional obligations to all our school children by increasing academic rigor, the quality of its expectations, and the equality of the educational opportunities it provides.
